**Hekui was originally the plural of heku.
**Patra was named Chino in the first few
drafts, named after T.M.'s horse growing up.
**When T.M. first put excerpts
of Heku up to the public, she received death threats from someone claiming
to be a Sanguinarian. He threatened her if she were ever to publish
because she let out too many secrets. To this day she has no idea what
secrets she released.
**The town of Buford,Colorado
was a place that T.M. visited in her childhood. The small store and
cabin have since been shut down.
**In earlier drafts, Storm
and Chevalier were a couple.
**T.M. would drive a Ram
before sitting down in a Bugatti and often proclaims that "Real
women drive trucks."
